Newly launched: Public education website on pregnancy and childbirth

Wednesday July 2, 2014

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada is pleased to announce the launch of a new public education website about pregnancy and childbirth for the Canadian public and health-care professionals.

The new site, pregnancy.sogc.org, delivers evidence-based information developed by doctors, nurses and midwives for the Canadian public and health-care professionals. Material on the site is based on SOGC guidelines.

Topics on the website include: pre-pregnancy considerations, factors that affect fertility, routine tests and common health questions during pregnancy, special circumstances, labour and types of childbirth, and after-pregnancy considerations.

Other resources include a due date calculator, body mass index equation examples, and links to several print and web-based materials including SOGC fact sheets and brochures, clinical guidelines, and links to other websites and relevant organizations.

This new website is a library of all of SOGC’s existing pregnancy and childbirth resources, all in one place. The SOGC receives thousands of requests every month from people looking for public education information on pregnancy topics, and we are pleased to provide Canadians and health-care professionals with this new resource.

We invite feedback! Send an email to info@sogc.com
